Versus71
How it works: The procedure it relatively simple. It goes on twitter and searches all the tweets for "gmail.com" (or "hotmail.com" if you want), and it cycles through the pages and finds the strings that fit the Regular Expression for email addresses. The maximum amount of pages twitter allows you to search is 75, and each page contains about 20 tweets containing "gmail.com" (or "hotmail"). For "gmail", it takes around 40 minutes for these pages to fill up, and for "hotmail" it takes around 60 minutes. Calculations: So you want to know where I came up with the numbers? Well, here it is: First lets calculate how many tweets of "gmail.com" are tweeted per hour. Thats is: 75(pages) * 20(results/page) per 40 minutes, which gives us 1500 results per 40 minutes, which is 2250 results per hour. Now the tweets for "hotmail": 75(pages) * 20(results/page) per 60 minutes, which gives us 1500 per hour So, in total we have 2250 + 1500 results per hour, which is 3750 emails/hr. This is just a rough estimate, and the actual number of emails harvested would be lower, around 3100 and 3200 due to duplicated and misidentifications.
