1. Download the script .

2. Unzip and upload into directory of your choice i.e.

We’ve named our directory ‘soccer‘.

 

3. Go to your web hosts cPanel (domain.com/cpanel) and click the MySQL Databases icon.

4. Create a new MySQL database.

5. Create a new MySQL user.

6. Add that MySQL user to the MySQL database you created.

After clicking ‘Add’ make sure you tick the ‘ALL PRIVILEGES’ icon.

7. Now you need to get a Facebook APP ID. To do this go to:

8. Click the ‘Create New App’ button on the right.

9. Enter a name for your ‘App’ and click ‘Continue’.

10. Now make sure the ‘Display Name’ and ‘Contact Email’ is correct. Below that you will see ‘App Domains’, here just enter yourdomain.com. Below that tick the ‘Disabled’ box – this activates the ‘App’. Then enter the location of the actual script under ‘Canvas URL’, which is inside the ‘App on Facebook’ section. Here you would puthttp://www.yourdomain.com/directory/.

11. Click ‘Save Changes’ at the bottom and you’ll see your ‘App ID’ at the top. It’s a 15 digit number.

 

12. Now, go to your voting scripts admin panel: http://www.yourdomain.com/directory/?admin'>http://www.yourdomain.com/directory/?admin

(as you can see you simply add ?admin to the end of the URL – question mark followed by the word admin).

 

13. On this page you need to create a password, enter your MySQL details and your App ID. Just a quick note – the ‘Server’ input box is usually ‘localhost’.

Click ‘Save’ and you’ll be taken to the vote URL:http://www.yourdomain.com/directory/

14. Now simply go to the admin panel again.

15. From here you can edit the question, answers, images, amount of votes and put your custom HTML code in below the numbers on the results page.

 

This is the part where you paste in your mailing list code and a call to action asking them to sign up.

And that’s it!
