Find your lost or stolen phone! All in one protection highly configurable!

 

Many commands are available, you just have to send them to your phone by SMS.

For example:

- Get your phone position (by network or GPS)

- Retrieve current SIM information (useful when someone put another SIM card in your phone)

- Share your position to friend

- SIM substitute protection

- Make it ringing even if the ringer is off

- Wipe data

- Lock your device

- set minimun accuracy for GPS position in order to prevent too much battery usage when using this command

- activate automatically GPS (Read notes bellow)

- hide received SMS with command

- received last position when battery is low

- uninstallation protection

- application reset protection

- and many, many others...

 

HOW DOES IT WORK?

 

You can execute a command on your phone by sending an SMS with a keyword and command.

If the command needs to reply via SMS (position, sim info, etc), it will be sent to originator of the received SMS.

 

WHAT SHOULD THE SMS BODY CONTAIN?

Received SMS must be formatted as follows (case sensitive):

 

keyword:command

 

For example: myprivatekeyword:position

info (private): When the phone receives an SMS containing this command it will reply via SMS with current SIM information and current position in a google map link

find (private): This command asks the phone to raise the volume and play the current ringtone until the "Stop" button is pressed. This is useful for finding your phone at home.

force (private): Same as "find", but without a "Stop" button. This is useful when you just have lost your phone and suspect it was stolen or someone is playing a prank on you

position (private/public): Phone replies via SMS which contains the current position returned by the network, contained in a google map link, and the current address if available. Address contains only city and country. Address is not always returned from a server and requires a data connection. With some carriers this feature requires a wifi connection due to network port restrictions

gps (private/public): This command is similar to "position", except that if GPS is enabled then we ask it to get the most accurate position. This can take a long time, and if the GPS is disabled, then the network position will be sent

history (private): This command enable you to get history of place call and SMS sent in order to get information on new user if your phone was stolen. You can set number of day of history by ending command by a number. For example for 2 days: keyword:history2. Default is 1 day. History will be sent by SMS to sender of SMS command. WARNING: history can takes a lot of sms to be sent, it can cost a lot if you don't have unlimited sms contract with your operator. Also if you ask for too big history your operator may block the sms (depends of operator)

lock (private): Lock your device and ask for the WatchDroid password to unlock it. You can also unlock your device by sending the private command "unlock" from your security phone number. Remember to set it in the WatchDroid settings.

airplane (private): This command will force the phone into Airplane Mode. The reason for this command is that it forces the user to enter the PIN of the SIM to make outgoing calls or SMS messages consider setting a PIN). WARNING: since the flight mode blocks the reception of SMS, you'll be unable to send other commands to your phone once you have sent this command.

wipe (private): This command allows you to delete all personal data from your phone: SMS/MMS, contacts, sdcard and call history. You can define, in advanced settings, if you want to erase all of these informations or only some of them. For security reason, this command need to be confirm. For example: you use phone A to erase phone B. Sent this command from phone A to phone B. Phone B processed it, see that it's the first launch and reply to phone A with a SMS with all instructions and an unique ID. On phone A you just have to forward this SMS to phone B to confirm and really erase it. WARNING: The deletion is final, use this command at your own risk, you will not be able to restore data. . In order to prevent contact to be deleted, contact synchronization will be automatically disabled when this command is received. But you need to export contact as a backup before sending this command to make sure not to lost contacts (in Gmail web interface for example).

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN INVALID COMMANDS ARE RECEIVED? (private/public) If the keyword is followed by an invalid command, or no command at all is provided, then the phone will reply via SMS with all available valid commands.
